With a displacement of just 4.500 kg, Italia 10.98 limits its weight to the typical values of racing boats; this ambitious achievement
is the result of a careful optimization of each part of the boat structure. Hull and deck are laminated in sandwich at a controlled temperature, with differentiated density PVC cores. For the construction, unidirectional, biaxial and triaxial E-fiberglass plies are laminated with vinylester resins, with a technique that makes the hull physically osmosis proof. The bottom frame with carbon fibre reinforcements is laminated on a female mould and then glued and laminated to the hull bottom.
Fast and easy to handle, even when conduced by a reduced crew. You can go sailing and have fun with Italia 10.98 also with light winds, thanks to the extreme lightness of the boat and the performing waterlines. The boat remains easy to handle and safe also in strong winds, thanks to the not extreme sail plan. Everything onboard is where we expect it to be. In daily use, as in regatta, the deck equipment is designed to ensure safety use without tampering crew movements. Italia 10.98 is a cruising boat, which is able to achieve great results also in IRC and ORCi competitions.
Italia 10.98 in its standard configuration can be considered ready to sail; if the rich standard equipment is not enough, a wide range of optionals allows the complete customization of the boat. Two 1.70 meters long benches enclose the 3.40 meters long and 1.90 meters wide teak coated cockpit, defining a new standard for an 11 metres boat. Four wide lockers are located inside the two benches and behind the steering wheel; a fifth locker, located in the middle of the cockpit, is large enough to accommodate the equipment and a liferaft: a great space to store everything you like (as a table for the outdoor lunch or the fenders). The open cockpit is completed by a folding and removable teak coated bathing platform, including a swim ladder.
All hatches are flush deck and are located in the bow cabin and in saloon, provided with flyscreens. There are also six opening portlights, three on each side of coachroof and one opening portlight on the internal side of cockpit for the aft cabin.
The walking section is wide and safe and the through deck jib furler, included in the standard equipment, allows the use of both cruising and racing sails.
Italia 10.98 is provided by four stainless steel mooring cleats, the stainless steel anchor arm can support Delta or similar anchors and it is removable and a 700W windlass is mounted in the chain locker.
All winches are two speeds and self tailing: there are two 44.2 primary winches, two 40.2 mainsheet winches and two 40.2 halyards winches.
Mast and rig
The standard version is provided with aluminum boom and a two spreaders mast by John Mast, with discontinuous rigging and stainless steel turnbuckles. The furling drum recessed below deck is manual with the ability to maneuver through the halyards winch. All the running rigging is made with ropes made of Dyneema® cores.

Sit in the cockpit of broader category, forget the size of the boat and unwind on the comfortable extra large size benches that will make you feel like at home; alone, with your family, or in the company of many friends, the space will always be plentiful.
In addition to the large size of the cockpit, Italia 10.98 has ample storage space in five distinct lockers, two under the benches and three on the floor in the cockpit, one of which is dedicated exclusively to the liferaft. As a standard, the cockpit and the seats are covered with high-quality teak; upon request, it is also possible to finish all the deck with teak.
The pleasure of teak
You will never see a model of Italia 10.98 with the cockpit in resin. Just because it is not produced. In fact, as a standard the cockpit and the seats are covered with high-quality teak 10 mm thick, simply the best on the market. Upon request, tit is also possible to finish all the deck with teak wood.
The antiskid of Italia 10.98 is made from the mold. This means that each unit is exactly equal to another, neither too slick nor too abrasive, in respect of the initial project. Moreover, the various areas of the deck are separated into sections, to facilitate any maintenance or repair of small parts, not to be never in the necessity of having to intervene on regions that are too large, with an obvious advantage in costs saving.
Light, space, ventilation and comfort are some of the criteria to develop the interiors of this eleven metres boat, giving the large spaces sensation, typical of bigger boats. Italia 10.98 can offer high performances, ensuring the comfort of cruising boats. The design is linear and essential, warm and welcoming, and it aims to create an environment that immediately transmits a sense of intimacy and comfort.Top quality materials have been used, teak wood and steel accessories, fabrics and hardware. The construction quality is excellent, as well as the attention given to each details in the refining phase. All the furnitures and bulkheads are made of teak veneered plywood satin varnished; the two doors on the main bulkhead, a well sized chart table, a folding table with an incorporated bottle rack located between the two comfortable dinette settees (thanks to their length of two metres they can be turned into comfortable beds) reveal a pleasant and classic environment.
